Seaport Boston is an Eco Friendly AND Green Hotel
We are proud to provide our guests a green hotel stay
Seaport Saves is a groundbreaking environmental program dedicated to increasing sustainability and conservation throughout all aspects of the organization. We encourage our guests, team members and vendors to embrace and practice an environmentally-sensitive lifestyle. It is possible to coexist in a delicate balance with the natural world while providing world-class service in a luxurious setting.
Seaport's latest green hotel achievements:
New, eco-friendly water taxi service
The hotel's Seaport Water Taxi offers a zero emissions fully-electric water taxi, the city's only such vessel. Given Seaport's focus on sustainability, this was an important consideration for Seaport prior to the forming of this partnership with Rowes Wharf Water Transit.
Only hotel to participate in "Grounds to Grow On" program
Seaport is currently the only the hotel participating in Keurig's new "Grounds to Grow On" program, a brewed portion pack recovery program. The program allows hotel guests to recover their used K-Cup portion packs. The brewed portion packs are then returned to g2 revolution, an innovative recycling company and are used to enrich soil and generate energy.
Welcoming thousands of new guests - bees!
In the spring of 2011, Seaport welcomed 90,000 bees into two hives on the 5th floor eco-friendly roof. By late this summer, the bees should produce over 100 pounds of honey for use in Aura restaurant and TAMO bar.
A Boston Green Business Award from the City of Boston
Seaport accepted a 2011 Boston Green Business Award from Boston Mayor Thomas M. Menino, the only Boston business to have received two of these awards since their inception in 2006.
A Charging Station and Complimentary Valet Parking for Eco-Friendly Cars
Seaport offers overnight guests who arrive in hybrid or electric vehicles access to a complimentary charging station and a complimentary night of valet parking through the end of 2012. The charging station is the first available a Boston hotel, yet another eco-friendly first for the hotel.
